Untitled[edit]

I've started this page, but haven't linked to it anywhere since it's obviously incomplete. I've been following the List of Canadian federal ridings alphabetically, and have thus far made it to Chilliwack—Fraser Canyon in British Columbia. I would appreciate any assistance. Did some math on the province level list at the bottom, with riding #s from another page on the 2015 election. Sorry Im not a sophisticated Wikipedia editor, if I made any mistakes please point them out, dont just delete my entry without good reason. Though I now realize that those population numbers might be out of date :(

How to Change Name of Article? :)[edit]

I would like to rename the article to "Canadian Federal Electoral Districts by Population 2015-present" seems like the most accurate title to me

It's definitely misnamed!

I came here because I noticed that the elector count for Niagara Falls in the Electors (2011) column does not match Elections Canada's 2011 results. Then I found Spadina—Fort York in the list of ridings, but Spadina-Fort York kind of didn't exist until 2015.

I'm not sure, but I suspect the table mostly uses numbers from the 2012 redistribution process. For example, the column Population (2011) is probably a population estimate on July 1st, 2011, and the column Electors (2011) is probably a snapshot of the list of electors from July 1st, 2011, as discussed in the 2012 redistribution article.

The redistributed ridings set out in the 2012 redistribution have been used in the 2015, 2019 and 2021 general elections, so calling it 2015-present makes some sense. But, if that's the title, I think it should have columns for the final elector counts for each election conducted with this set of ridings. Further, the current columns need accurate names and references.

If the Liberal-NDP agreement survives, the next election will come some time after June 2025, and it will be held under new ridings/boundaries being set out in the 2022 redistribution.
