A good start[edit]

That's a good start for what will cover all of the German postage stamp and postal history information. Hopefully you can add citations for the possible questioned statements. Inline citations are the norm these days; just quoting two catalogue names is not sufficient. Specific citations and page numbers should be added. If you need to look at one that is done correctly check out postage stamps of Ireland; our only philatelic featured article. We may even be able to get a did you know entry if a quote can be chosen but that will definitely need a reliable source and must be done before the article is 5 days old. What does this mean?[edit]

This edit is very odd. What date of expiration? Stamps are usually valid until demonitorised. What does it mean and do you have a reference for it? Thanks ww2censor (talk) 23:58, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is my understanding that ceratin German stamps are valid for a limited time from the date of their origination. For the GDR Mi 1004-3365 the dates have been now confirmed by ref.Ekem (talk) 02:33, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) Is there a specific timeframe for each issue, does it vary or is it always the same, and do you have a reference for this? I think the statement needs some clarification because if I don't understand it easily, then non-philatelists will hardly understand. I think you have answered it now. Tag removed[edit]

As the article is now heavily supported by references and my request to indicate what additional sections would need references has not been attended to, I have removed the {sources} tag. If any references still are needed, please place an in-line {citation} marker. Ekem (talk) 02:05, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vorlaeufer/Usage of Unoverprinted Stamps in the Colonies[edit]

The statement is made that the colonies used overprinted regular German stamps prior to the introduction of the Yacht stamps. However, prior to *that*, unoverprited stamps were used in many/most of the colonies and are called "Vorlaeufer" by Michel among other authorities. Should the paragraph be corrected to reflect this?134.243.211.185 (talk) 19:13, 17 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Correct and corrected.Ekem (talk) 01:05, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
