Recommended rename[edit]

Recommend renaming (moving) simply to Postal history of Jamaica. That title would include stamps. Having that seperately seems a bit redundant. Great start to the article by the way.--Oni Ookami AlfadorTalk|@ 03:59, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Most of the articles get both terms into the name, as one can see in Category:Postal history by country etc, since they are combined accounts and it helps garner Google hits. I would consider a postal-history-alone article to concentrate on rates and routes, mentioning stamps only incidentally. Stan (talk) 04:19, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh wow, I guess I can see how that makes sense now. While I still think it doesn't sound very good, I can certainly agree with it given the overwhelming standard that is set and the whole search engine precedent I didn't even think of.--Oni Ookami AlfadorTalk|@ 04:43, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, I've never cared for the wordiness, but the alternatives have their own downsides. I was influenced by noticing many of the standard references (such as Boggs for Canada) are titled in much the same way (perhaps for the benefit of librarians doing searches, heh).
