Needs sorting out[edit]

Kenya Posts and Telecommunications Corporation states "From 1948 to 1977, postal service in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda was provided by the East African Posts and Telecommunications Corporation." Is that correct? This article states that the East African Posts and Telecommunications Administration (is that the same as the East African Posts and Telecommunications Corporation?) issued stamps "between 1935 and 1961 for use in the colonies of Kenya, Uganda, and Tanganyika." How do these dates relate?

Yeah, the phrasing is wrong. I don't know about the corporation, but the Stamp Atlas sez the East Africa Common Service Organization "issued commmemorative stamps for use in the three territories until it became a dead letter in 1976." 1961 is when the the constituents started becoming independent and issuing their own stamps in addition to the KUT issues. The text states that commemoratives were issued in 1963 before the handover to East Africa Common Service Organization, so I've adjusted the dates given for East African Posts and Telecommunications Administration. Additionally, a new reference I added points out that all stamps from both issuers were in use until 1977. SteveStrummer (talk) 02:50, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
