Alternate postal providers[edit]

I have removed a sentence which refers to alternate postal providers which I can find no trace of ever having existed; they have certainly never been listed under the names given in the Register of Postal Operators.Daveosaurus (talk) 08:05, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

And I've done it again. Wine Post may print its own stamps, but any Tom, Dick and Harry can do that - all they need is access to a printing press and some sticky paper. What they can't do is pretend that they're actually postage stamps or that they can be used for the carriage of mail. Daveosaurus (talk) 05:03, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Geoff Weston: Re: your edit today. That's not what it says in the Postal Services Act 1998. Section 27 states: "No person may commence or carry on business as a postal operator unless that person is registered under this Act." There's no mention of an 80c cut-off (and in any case that's less than half the cost of sending a letter). Wikipedia is not the place to advertise the Wine Post - go and book a classified in the ODT like everyone else. Daveosaurus (talk) 05:14, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
