Start up[edit]

This article is consistent with the format of Philately Project articles that tend to be geared to specific countries and other postal authorities. The initial text is taken from material developed in several related articles.

Perhaps somebody could research the copyright status of PNA stamp images? Meanwhile, I will upload images based on fair use. However, we may be able to obtain specific images of higher quality than the comprehensive set on Zywietz's fine website. HG | Talk 17:54, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just learned by copying others. One thing new though, is that for books, creating a bibliography section seems to be preferred. That's easy to do. You just put the full and regular bibliographic information in a section entitled "Bibliography" and use the "references" section for a listing in-line citations that reference simply the author's last name, the year of publication, and the page number. (It's good too to place the page number beside the author name as well like this <ref name=Kassimp21> for example.) I did the Kassim text and thought I'd throw in the Finkelstein ref too since it doesn't hurt. But I forgot to add the page numbers as I placed in brackets here, so I'll go back and do that now. In the "regognition" section it states that

Besides their postal role, Palestinian post offices have played a pivotal role in political affairs. In 1996 and 2006, post offices in East Jerusalem served as voting stations for Palestinian elections. [11][12]

It should be noted that in East Jerusalem there are no Palestinian post offices, as Israel regards East Jerusalem is its own terrority. So the post offices mentioned by the sources where Palestinians could vote were in fact Israeli ones.Bleddynefans (talk) 16:04, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gaza[edit]

There are no differences in respect of postage stamps between Gaza and the West Bank. The agency selling PNA stamps is actually located at the Gaza City post office. The General Administration of Post, Philatelic Bureau, P.O. Box 5000, GAZA, Palestine, http://www.mtit.gov.ps/p_english/ fax: 08-2822846, tel: 08-2829295, e-mail: jbakeer@gov.ps Since Hamas took control of Gaza in 2007, Israel maintains a blockade of the strip. Collectors report that no mail seems to leave or enter the Gaza strip for several months now. I don't have specific information about the current workings of the post withing Gaza. Mils as a currency on new stamps?[edit]
