Introduction and Correction[edit]

I've corrected some misspellings and whatnot on the Potemayo wiki. I hope anyone that has valuble information on this yonkoma/anime will help me fill it with information. - Nookadum@Wikipedia

Mikan Natsu (夏 みかん, Natsu Mikan)
Voiced by: Ayako Kawasumi
Mikan is one of Sunao's classmates, whom which she has a huge crush on; however, due to her soft-spoken personality, she does not find it easy to convey her feelings of love. Mikan will often have outragious outrageous fantasies involving her and Sunao in a relationship together, which causes her to space out entirely.

Guchuko's weapon[edit]

I have read that the original author drawn this as a scythe but placed its edge in the opposite direction by mistake, so actually it's not an 'axe', but it may appear to be one. Well, a reverse-edged-variable-angle scythe would be somewhat more accurate but I'm not interested in this sort of nonsense dispute ;) 221.171.148.129 07:59, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It would be great if you could find a source for that information, but until then, it remains to be an axe.-- 09:21, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, if you're interested... it's on the original author's blog here http://chelcy.blog35.fc2.com/blog-date-20070724.html , "Is that thing which Guchuko has a scythe, or an axe?" (in Japanese) and her answer is like "Aww, I never noticed it's reverse-edged until you pointed this out, how embarrassing... I intended it as a scythe but I guess I don't have a chance to correct this any longer, so please take it as a vulgar and savage scythe edged outside, as it would fit Guchuko's character" 219.107.254.140 03:33, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I assumed it was a scythe until someone threw a temper tantrum over the issue. The person on the board phrased it badly, but there IS a difference between the two: is the blade on the inside or the outside? It's VERY dependant as to the use the tool is put to: a scythe can't chop and it's difficult to swing an axe effectively. (The deathshead ornament certainly indicates what was intended.)CFLeon (talk) 22:19, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, so the author says it's a scythe, and the blade on the wrong side is her mistake. So are we gonna change it to a "scythe" or not? It has a skull because it's a scythe, not an axe. Shrine Maiden (talk) 17:27, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That doesn't change the fact that the weapon is technically an axe due to the blade being parallel to the blade instead of perpendicular which is what a scythe is; the author merely got it wrong. For an example: You can call a dog a cat all you like, but that doesn't change the fact that a dog will always be a dog.-- 22:57, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The author who created the character and the "axe-scythe" said it herself that it's a SCYTHE / SICKLE, and just got the blade wrong. You are just protecting your own point of view. If I draw a cat and it looks like a dog, it's still a cat. If you say it's technically an axe, then I say it's not. An axe does not have such long and slim handle, and an axe should have a broader blade, and an axe's blade is connected to the handle at the middle of the blade, not the top. Never seen an axe with skull design, while scythes are usually associated with death/skulls.

あれは一応鎌のつもりで描いてます。もう今更直せないので、ぐちゅ子らしく、外側に刃をむき出しな 役に立たない野蛮な鎌だという事にしておいて下さい
