Stop promoting useless websites on Wikipedia.[edit]
This is not what Wikipedia is made for. The word "pozirk" has a meaning, which is explained in this article. Your website is useless and will be defunded and closed in a year or two anyway. Pozirk (talk) 00:49, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
- Useless according to whom? Apparently the website has a reputation in the region since prominent media quote it (Belsat, Zerkalo, Radio Liberty, Euroradio and Deutsche Welle, to name a few). Its social significance is apparent from the article, as Alexander Lukashenko's authoritarian government designated it as extremist. I appreciate constructive discussion, feedback and any reasonable updates and edits, but would refer any attempts to kill the article under false pretenses to the Arbitration Committe. Pozirk news agency name[edit]
On March 25, 2023, user Pozirk edited out everything pertaining to the news website Pozirk under the pretext that the website "has nothing to do the word Pozirk" (sic). I find this edit to be a gross abuse of the editor's powers, for by this logic he could kill the page BlackBerry since it is not about the fruit and the page Mayflower since it is not about plants that bloom in May.
Besides, I would argue that the website has everything to do with the word Pozirk, since it means "a look" or a "glance" and the journalists who founded it apparently meant a look at current affairs in their country.
According to MoS, "article titles are based on how reliable English-language sources refer to the article's subject". BBC, PEN International, Justice for Journalists, The Kyiv Independent and others call it Pozirk in their English-language coverage, and we should do the same.
