I think WP Pedeterminism subject page should include references to psychological nativism. It more widely believable that In the field of psychology, nativism is the view that certain skills or abilities are "innate" and others hard-wired into the brain with life experiences and everyday challenges. This is in contrast to empiricism, the "blank slate" or tabula rasa view, which states that the brain has inborn capabilities for learning from birth. (Like the baby Immanuel) his environment wasn't as protected and didn't contain experiences such as native beliefs. Predeterminism can be examined by itself in a uniquely religious scope. I am surprised this sense of it hasn't made it into the main page. Predeterminism definition[edit]

Since predeterminism is not identical to predestination, I created a page explaining the difference and giving philosophical sources for the difference between determinism and predeterminism. Cmsreview (talk) 23:05, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a source for "Predeterminism is the idea that every event is caused, not simply by the immediately prior events, but by a causal chain of events that goes back well before recent events"? This appears to imply causal determinism, but not all references make this claim. I can find [1] and [2] in support of this definition, but others do not make this claim [3] [4]. Before your edit [5], the text implied that causal determinism was used as an argument for the existence of predeterminism, but made no specific claim of causal determinism. The original definition provided was "Predeterminism is generally the philosophy that all of the events of history, past, present and future, have been decided before the advent of temporal existence."
