Warner Bros. homage?[edit]

I'm certainly going to insert any OR into the article, but this short struck me as being inspired by -- if not a bone fide homage to -- the classic Warner Bros. shorts, in particular Bugs Bunny. Anybody else get that impression? (In particular, anyone citeable?) —Steve Summit (talk) 16:46, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It also struck me as owing much homage to the computer game Portal. - Brian Kendig (talk) 19:46, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I concur with the above statement; the 'portal' between the hats provides the physics for each of the stunts that make this film so great. Many of the same physics aspects have been explored in the video game 'Portal'. 72.141.160.63 (talk) 21:24, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It reminded me a lot of the plot of Vectorman, but without any official comment from Pixar, any indication of such without a verifiable WP:CITE will be removed from this article. SpikeJones (talk) 12:27, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I saw it today, and thought the influence of Classic Looney Tunes was definitely evident. It'd probably be difficult to find a source backing this up though. So I guess it should stay out.

Style may be Looney Tunes, but I thought the theme, of a rabbit at odds with his magician, was an homage to the Rocky and Bullwinkle interstitials. ("Hey, Rocky! Watch me pull a rabbit outta my hat.") I have no citations, but that's how it struck me. Just1thing (talk) 17:16, 9 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Alakazam[edit]

Currently, Alakazam links to the Pokémon. Is this what we want? dogman15 (talk) 05:15, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Blacklisted reference?[edit]

I used the following link for the development section. It's a really helpful interview, but for whatever reason it's been blacklisted. So, the reference doesn't contain the URL, but I used it anyways.

Screenshots[edit]

While the two images are nice, I don't think they meet the fair-use requirements, and don't really serve as commentary. I am going to be bold and remove the groin picture, as it is not really needed. Corn.u.co.piaDisc.us.sion 05:03, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Statlor and wladorf cameo[edit]

I feel it should be mentioned the cameo by statlor and waldorf (the muppets) it is mentioned in their article and so im going to add it in. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.72.41.214 (talk) 20:26, 26 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That's an uncited edit in that other article. Unless we have proof from a 3rd party that it truly is them at the 2:38 mark, I wouldn't add it. SpikeJones (talk) 20:44, 26 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Its now a cited cameo so i am re-adding it — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.61.149.237 (talk) 23:16, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Little FYI...[edit]

Buena Vista Pictures Distribution had become Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures since April 25, 2007, but hadn't used its current name until Touchstone Pictures' Dan in Real Life. XSMan2016 (talk) 20:30, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
