Peach the Koopa Kids' Mother?

Since when are the Kooper Kids Peach's kids?? Can someone give me a source for that? I mean, OK, in SMS, Bowser Jr., thought Peach was his mother, but at the end of the game, Bowser came clean about making that up. So, who says Peach gave birth to lizard kids? --Carl 02:30, 27 Oct 2004 (UTC)

My source for that addition was the Koopa Kid article. Is that page inaccurate? Factitious 05:01, Oct 27, 2004 (UTC)

Princess Peach Toadstool (The Name)

Er, I'm sorry, but shouldn't this merely be titled Princess Peach? The name Princess Toadstool is long gone. Miyamoto didn't approve of this name, he was the one that changed it back to Peach.--A Link to the Past 10:20, May 21, 2005 (UTC)
As I told you earlier, I can't say I agree. Toadstool was the name for over a decade and is more common to players from the 8 and 16 bit eras. FWIW, I see no evidence of Miyamoto not approving of it, either. Andre (talk) 01:44, Jan 12, 2005 (UTC)
Well, regardless of if he disapproved or not, Peach is her real name. It's the same scenario as people who call Mr. Satan (Dragon Ball Z) Hercule Satan, because Mr. Satan is the original name of the character, and Hercule is the censored name for the English version.--A Link to the Past 10:20, May 21, 2005 (UTC)

Play Mario 64. Its been adopted as her surname, similar to what they did with Eggman Robotnik in Sonic. And I don't see anyone calling for goombas to be changed to kuribos. Just because something isn't the original name doesn't mean its invalid, unless clearly retconned. -SA-

So, the fact that they've never ONCE used Toadstool since SM64 doesn't retcon it? And you're comparing the official English translation to the Japanese name for Goomba. It's not an issue of us trying to go for original Japaneseness or whatever - it's the mere fact that her name translated is Princess Peach. Princess Toadstool is not being used anymore, and thusly, is a clear case of retcon. Hell, not even retcon - fixing a mistake. Is the change from Ganon to Gannon a retcon? -- A Link to the Past 00:35, May 26, 2005 (UTC)

Gannon is a typo/translation error. Toadstool is a deliberate change. And I'm 99% sure it was mentioned as part of her name in her SSBM trophy. And not being mentioned doesn't mean its retconned. It seemed like the original Koopa Kids had been replaced by Bowser Jr, never to be seen again, and then they appeared in Mario and Luigi.

And even if it is retconned, we would be failing as an encyclopedia to not mention it, seeing as how it was her only name for 11 years. We're covering past and present, not just present.

And whoever keeps putting in the name change part, STOP. We're discussing it over here.-SA-

1. But *gasp* they didn't consider it an error. They thought it was Gannon.

2. Well, the 1% has defeated you. Check your copy. No mention can be found, on any Trophy, of Toadstool.

3. You're comparing NoA's given title to NCL's own, created characters? You're basically saying that because the possibility exists that her name may be changed, it should stay this way. Well, it could change to the Queen of France. The name is not being used anymore. The only use of it is by Flagship, a company which often does remakes, ports, scripts, etc. Nintendo EAD never uses it. Hal Labs never uses it. Intelligent Systems never uses it. Camelot never uses it. Hudson Soft never uses it. Hell, NoA has stopped using it. It's you and people who were hired to do a direct port and add stuff versus Nintendo. The text has remained the same, so that's your only piece of evidence. I'll stick with Nintendo and everyone else, 'kay?

4. So? Analyze it in the document, not the title. Super Mario 64 was the last game to use it, almost ten years ago. Every game since has called her Princess Peach. Her name has been retconed. King Koopa was retconned and his official name is now King Bowser, so go ahead and change it to King Koopa. At least it's more accurate than Princess Toadstool, which was made up by TRANSLATORS because they thought it was a better name than Peach. I'd say after ten years, Princess Toadstool will not be used. Princess Peach was the official name in SMRPG... So, it's creators vs. translators, in a ten year old fight, where the creators won, and you are still insisting that the translators somehow won, and this is still an official title? The name is not official. You cannot show me a single reason to treat it as her CURRENT (not previous) official name. We account for past, present and future. We do not title an Article with a name that has been retconned, ruling out the past argument. As for future, nothing indicates that the name will change in the future. Ruling out the future. So all we have is Present, which shows that her official name is Princess Peach. No more, no less.

5. I was adding the ==Name Change== section. Are you an Admin? No? Well tell me when you are. I prefer not to listen to people who tell me to stop doing something when there's nothing wrong with it. The Name Change is not a Discussion, it's a VOTE. There is nothing to discuss; Until you can give me a reason why they are trying to eliminate the Toadstool name that doesn't make it unofficial, it should be changed to her official name, that, whenever someone references her, either calls her Princess, Peach or a combination of the two. NEVER Toadstool.-- A Link to the Past 06:32, May 27, 2005 (UTC)

Okay, folks. First, we all know that her original Japanese name was always Princess Peach and that the name Princess Toadstool was an American creation. Regardless, for years, she was known only as Princess Toadstool in America and, I imagine, other English-speaking countries. As was said, she hasn't really been known as Toadstool since the days of Super Mario 64, almost a decade ago. The vast majority of English sources now refer to her as Princess Peach. For over a decade now, she's been Peach. The article should clearly be titled as such. I think there should be forwarding pages with the Toadstool name, but that name, more then being retconned, has been retired. (Also, this discussion needs to be formatted better. It's hard to make heads or tails of who said what.) -- J44xm 02:53, Jun 12, 2005 (UTC)

Toadstool

One should point out that a toadstool is a mushroom, so that dickheads like me don't assume toadstool to be toads' stool. Ncik 01 Apr 2005
