trying to find a good source article but a good example of this law and its position in regards to australian rights would be the Sony vs Australa copyright lawsuit. the basics of it are: Sony tried to force australia ISP's to give out the names of owners of certain IP's known to be pirating material from Sony industries. after the ISP providers refused they took it to the high court of australia. Sony ended up loosing as the Austrlian law puts the right of privacy as a higher right than copyright protection.
