Can an expert edit the sentences below to a more-professional level?[edit]

This is what we have currently:

In some cases an adult tooth might have decay down to the pulp but the pulp is still pretty healthy. If the roots haven't finished forming yet, a partial pulpotomy might give it a chance to finish forming.

This not only sounds like pop science but it is also written in an amateurish way. Can an expert please fix this and make it more professional? I can edit the above and rewrite it better, but I am not an expert in this topic.
