Cramer[edit]

Is there a need for this bit of ownership history of the Priory? He is not given as a noted resident. SovalValtos (talk) 21:14, 14 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Puttenham Telephone Exchange[edit]

This section is about 60 years out of date, STD was introduced in 1958. I would suggest deleting it. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 09:01, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The section could do with source(s) but surely we should not just be concerned with recentism?SovalValtos (talk)
Not sure where to find sources now! Even if kept, it is too detailed. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 09:44, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed excess and poorly written detail on number changes.SovalValtos (talk) 20:37, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The exchange is apparently due for demolition to be replaced by private housing. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 20:52, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Murgatroyd49 I am rusty at editing. There is an image at https://www.novaloca.com/commercial-property/for-sale/guildford/the-heath-puttenham/137126 which should help me identify it if I visit the area with a camera for taking images for commons. However I have not yet been able to find its location from the postcode GU3 1AL and various old maps. Help for a precise grid ref appreciated.SovalValtos (talk) 22:09, 19 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
SovalValtos From the planning survey: "There are two single storey buildings with pitched roofs situated off the B3000. They can be seen from a large pub car park off the main road. The buildings are reached from along a track, which is planted with maturing native vegetation. Paddocks are situated opposite the application site and the site is relatively open in character." The pub is the Jolly Farmer. Grid reference for the exchange is SU 93576 47800. Access is off a lane signposted to the recycling facilty. Murgatroyd49 that should be enough for me to find it if I visit. I later found a Google Earth street view showing a sign for the exchange but not an actual view of the building. Would you be able to use one of the planning docs as a source?SovalValtos (talk) 17:31, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Aren't they a primary source? Murgatroyd49 (talk) 17:54, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I have put an image on commons Murgatroyd49 which if you think is worth adding to the article, please do so. I took some more detailed exterior views but did not have access to the interior.SovalValtos (talk) 16:35, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
SovalValtos Thanks for doing that I'll take a look at have a go at rewriting the section. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 17:03, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
