Coloring in map[edit]

What is the significance of the coloring in the first map (File:ChinaTaiyuanQingxu.png)? - Jmabel | Talk 21:46, 3 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Pinging @Slb nsk as the creator of that map. - Jmabel | Talk 21:49, 3 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Exact location of Qingxu county on the map of Taiyuan. --Slb nsk (talk) 11:32, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Slb nsk: So Qingxu would be the solid red, I presume. What about the red and mixed red-gray borders north of that? Do they mean anything or are they an accidental artifact? - Jmabel | Talk 17:48, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
      • It seems that people consider me as professional painter with secret meaning of each line :-) The truth: nobody cared about maps of chinese counties. When I understood this, I decided to do at least something by myself. I took maps of China's prefectures, and used Adobe Photoshop for filling by white colour all counties except one. I did it about 1000 times (for almost ALL counties of China), and it was not my purpose to transform each such map into a piece of art :-) For example, this particular map was created from File:Taiyuan mcp.png. As you can see, those misterious colored border are simply remains of original colours. --Slb nsk (talk) 19:37, 6 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
        • @Slb nsk: OK. Now that I understand the intention, I did some cleanup. - Jmabel | Talk 20:44, 6 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
