Field of View (degrees) spec needed[edit]

Name change to Meta Quest 2.[edit]

Meta has announced the discontinuation of the Oculus brand and the Oculus Quest 2 is being renamed to Meta Quest 2. Therefore, a name change should be applied to the article.

Says who? Article titles are not decided at the whim of manufacturer's marketing or branding departments. The product is still internationally marketed under the name Oculus Quest 2, and it is by far (99.9%?) the most common name for the product. I've undone the move, since it was over a month premature. They're not calling it the Meta Quest yet, you can have a look at the official website for proof. At this time it's still the Oculus Quest 2 (it's in the web page/window title), or simply just the Quest 2 as they seem to be referring to it for now.

According to the article linked above, they're planning for the branding change "starting 2022". Before moving this again, check your calendar to see if it's 2022, then see if they've actually started to use the branding, and if so, then move the page. --Veikk0.ma 02:47, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Several users have attempted to boldly move this page to "Meta Quest 2"; personally I feel this is a contravention of WP:COMMONNAME. We use the name used by the majority of secondary sources; this product was released as "Oculus Quest 2", and the sheer majority of media coverage still refers to it as such. We are not ~~Oculus'~~ ~~Facebook's~~ Meta's PR office. This product is still most commonly known as "Oculus Quest 2", and footnotes/redirects explaining the rebranding are sufficient.
