Notability[edit]

Dear Curb Safe Charmer,

I have gone to some effort to deal with your initial objection regarding the number of references. I see that you now state that the subject is not notifiable. I must comment that if the subject truly lacks notability , you could have raised that objection in the first place.

However I believe that the subject is notable. The reason for this is NOT the fact that there is a commemorative statue in a public place: many persons have statues erected in their honour. However very few have commemorative postal stamps printed in their honour, and the decision for the Hungarian national postal service to issue a stamp in 1974, 20 years after the subject's death, is strong evidence that the subject is notable, at least to those interested in Hungarian history. The number of individuals featured on a national postage stamp in a given year is very limited, for example in 1952 only 6 persons were featured (see List of people on the postage stamps of Hungary).

The reference I cite for biographical details ("Who's Who on the Postage Stamps of Eastern Europe") is clearly independent of the subject, as per guidelines, and is a factual reference book. It is based on further (Hungarian) sources. The Memento Park guidebook is only cited for details of the memorial.

Compared to the raft of minor sports personalities & celebs who do get on Wikipedia, I think that a Hungarian World War II resistance fighter who is commemorated at the national level by a postage stamp is pretty notable.

Hello @David e cooper. Did you take a look at the links that I provided to the guidelines on notability? All editors need to be fully familiar with these. The basic criteria for the notability of biographies is based on the extent to which other publications have written about a person. This criteria ensures that there's enough material available from which to base an article. See WP:WHYN. If only one or two publications have written about someone and only briefly, that's not enough. In the case of Kreutz it seems to me that that is the case. If much has been written about the life of a celebrity then yes, they can be the subject of an article. Try to find more in-depth material on him, reference where you found it, and then resubmit. Review of article rejection (Robert Kreutz)[edit]

I have added a new reference to a book containing a survey of persons featured on East European stamps, and also added a photo of the stamp on which he appears. I believe that for an article this size, the number of references is sufficient and of good quality (i.e. one published reference book, one published guide book).
