I removed the part about Icelanders not being the indigenous people of Iceland.[edit]

Anti-Indigenous racism[edit source] Iceland is the only Nordic country that has never had an Indigenous population. Iceland was uninhabited before it was populated by Norse settlers and some Celtic settlers. Was removed as it is clear hate speech.

Dehumanizing a population native to an area in an attempt to remove their claim to that place is not allowed on Wikipedia. If I did the same for Greenland I think you would get it. Indigenous peoples are the earliest known inhabitants of an area and their descendants.

Even if the claim is a quote from someone on the Artic Council, it does not make it right. Racism is a sensitive subject and it can be hard to stay neutral. There are white racists, black racists, right wing racist and left wing racists. And there are people out there that are racist against their own group. So a good thing to do before you post anything on Wikipedia is to switch out the group you are talking about and see if it still feels okay to say.

See? This is hate speech intended to dehumanize them and remove their claim to the land. Euroauditor (talk) 01:10, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
