Why does this article even mention, let alone conclude with, him buying a speedboat in 1955? - Jmabel | Talk 04:33, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Because it calls up a sort of quaint image of him boating off the southern California coast (where I think he moved) with his family in his declining years. Seriously, though: I threw in everything I could find on him, with little regard to how encyclopedic it was. As I noted on the new articles page, of all the details in there, this one can safely be excised, especially as we link to the Time article whence it came.
