Misspelled name[edit]

The name was misspelled in the title of the article and in the article itself. In VIAF, the preferred forms of the name are Raffaele, Raffaello and Rafaello. The alternate forms Raffaelle and Rafaelle, mentioned in VIAF and found mostly in texts written in languages other than Italian, are considered misspellings in Italian orthography. In texts written in English (including those cited as external references) the same text often uses more than one spelling, e.g. http://www.vam.ac.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0016/250126/monti_aad-2011-03_20140617.pdf includes 4 instances of the correct spelling Raffaele and 1 instance of the misspelling Rafaelle. It is consistently spelled Raffaele in texts written in Italian, e.g. https://www.academia.edu/24083636/ at p.187.

In the articles about this sculptor on wikipedia, the name is spelled Raffaele Monti (the standard Italian spelling) in the Italian, Portuguese and Swedish wikipedias, Rafaelle Monti in the English wikipedia, and Raffaelle Monti in the Spanish wikipedia.

Of the English Wikipedia article linked to this page, the name is spelled

I corrected the name in the article text and added a note before the date of birth, but I do not know how to change the article title and redirect from Rafaelle to the correct spelling Raffaele, I hope someone can help, thanks! Ritsurin98 (talk) 16:35, 24 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I was going to have a go and then I chickened out, being a newbie on Wiki and not wanting to risk messing it up!
I found this guide, but perhaps you already saw it:

Could anyone with more experience than I help to correct the name of the page to 'Raffaele Monti'? The error is adding to people misspelling the name in general outside Wiki.

Thank you, I now managed to move the page to 'Raffaele Monti (artist)' (adding the profession because there is already a page for the film director of the same name). Ritsurin98 (talk) 16:23, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
