Disambiguation[edit]

In percussion, rattle can have two meanings:

See also Jingle (music) which probably should be at jingle (percussion) as a jingle is a piece of music... so the disambiguator music is ambiguous.

Probably best to move this page rather than try to rewrite it to cover both meanings. Andrewa (talk) 02:28, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Swiss?[edit]

I haven't at this stage removed the article from Category:Swiss musical instruments, but that's more because I'm not quite sure what to do than because I think it's OK as it. It's not; Rattles occur in most if not all musical cultures. But I don't want to add it to all the relevant categories of musical instruments and percussion instruments. That would be gross overcategorisation.

Perhaps for articles such as this one, which cover a whole class of musical instruments rather than one specific instrument, we should be flexible as to whether or not we add the article to the Category:Percussion instruments by tradition subtree. A universally used class such as this one should probably be uncategorised in that subtree. Andrewa (talk) 03:46, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Tango[edit]

I've never seen maracas being used in tango. At least i'm sure they're not widely used, i'm removing that from the article. 190.193.177.4 (talk) 14:58, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
