History and publications[edit]

  • "The 30-year anniversary" – Clarify: "The 30th anniversary".
  • Ref. 6 covers the launch of the Sensible Software Kickstarter campaign only. Ref. 3 contains the publishing date. I suggest putting Ref. 6 together with Ref. 3.
  • Contributors not included in the last sentence of the second paragraph are Mike Montgomery, Gary Bracey and Peter Molyneux.
  • "Still, the book did not appear to be one-sided" – Improve prose: "Despite this, the book was not considered to be one-sided".

Sega Mega Drive/Genesis: Collected Works[edit]

  • "Read-Only Memory released its next art book, Sega Mega Drive/Genesis: Collected Works, covering the development, life, and legacy of Sega's 16-bit console, in late 2014" – Improve flow: "Read-Only Memory released its next art book, Sega Mega Drive/Genesis: Collected Works, in late 2014covering the development, life, and legacy of Sega's 16-bit console."
  • "over 30 interviews" – Ref. 14 says there were "almost 30 interviews".
  • Omitted interview subjects include Peter Morawiec, Rich Karpp and Michael Latham.

  • Thanks for the review, @Cognissonance! I've addressed your points, if you'll take a look. I didn't add the additional names because the article isn't meant to be a full accounting of interviewees, but summarize the highlights (particularly the notable interviewees, who have their own articles). czar 07:06, 5 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Good point. Cognissonance (talk) 08:30, 5 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Peripheral interest declaration[edit]

As the primary author of this article, I want to acknowledge a peripheral conflict of interest. I am now affiliated with Kickstarter, the crowdfunding platform used to launch Read-Only Memory's projects, though I had no connection when I wrote this article over a year ago, in late 2016. I continue to have no affiliation with Read-Only Memory. I've written dozens of Wikipedian-vetted articles and am familiar with the guidelines, so neutrality won't be an issue (but really, good luck trying to find negative press on ROM's books). Yet if you have an issue with any of my edits, just let me know here (with a {{ping}}) and we can discuss/rephrase. czar 03:48, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

[1] @Dissident93, BRD... The source uses "series creator" not "character designer" partially because he worked on other things besides the solitary title character and storyboards. And indeed that's how the source credits him. "Sonic series artist" would be more sufficient than "Sonic the Hedgehog [individual character] character designer", but really "Sonic series creator" or "co-creator" provides all the context a reader needs to know in this article. czar 10:28, 24 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • It's generic when it could be more accurate, but whatever. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 03:37, 25 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
