Torrens system[edit]
Georgia adopted a Land Registration Act based on the Torrens system in the 1920s. The Act is still on the books but it's never been used to any significant degreee - insuring a title in Georgia is still done in the customary way: by issuing a commitment based on attorney's opinion and abstract of title. South Africa[edit]
"The South African system of deeds registry is hailed by many as one of the best systems of title registration in the world." This sentence so desperately needs a reference.
