Red- Bellied Woodpecker As Far South As Key Largo, Fl[edit]

Edit on description[edit]

Jebbles- I edited the description to 'light gray to buffy', because I thought this better described most individuals of the species. Though the example of the female in Chicago does show more gray coloration, other images in the article and images available on the internet show more whitish or buffy-tinged plumage. Also, most individuals I have observed in the Northeast have more buffy coloration. I'm not sure what it does to impair sentence flow- though I know this is subjective, and impression of sentence flow can vary from person to person. However, I'll leave my edit undone, as the article does say 'mainly' gray, and besides it is a very minor aspect of the article. Aythya affinis (talk) 17:32, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Red-bellied Woodpecker siting.[edit]

Red-bellied Woodpecker at our seasonal camping site in St. Ignace, Michigan. I couldn't get a good picture. Only the back. Current map does not show them in this part of the country. We are in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
