Why does “bar” need to be “translated”?[edit]

THere seems to be a rather awkward translation of the term “bar”, explaining that it in America this is a “measure”; surely both terms are used on both sides of the Atlantic? If 12-bar blues can be understood in the U.K. and the States, a 16 bar solo doesn’t need an explanation? Jock123 (talk) 09:41, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. When reading, I assumed "measure" was a translation of the word "sequence"! (Ian H, Jan 2019)
