"1984" ad[edit]

The source indeed says McKenna masterminded the "1984" ad. However, in the source it relies on, an AdAge interview, McKenna says the "1984" ad "came out of the Chiat agency", so it seems Mobile Magazine misread that and summarized it incorrectly. For what it's worth, an editor who says he's McKenna also says the claim is false. Given this disagreement in published sources, I'll remove the statement from our article.
