Is this necessary?[edit]

Is this article really necessary? It's hardly a list because there appears to be only one registered historic garden in Blaenau Gwent ...described in the Bedwellty House article. If anything, why not write a standalone article about the gardens? Sionk (talk) 20:40, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I guess it was made as it would have been the only county without one. I can sense the need for consistency. Hopefully new ones are designated in the future. DankJae 18:23, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
While Dank may be being a little optimistic as the the likelihood of another in the near future!, it is a possibility. I’ve just done Cadw’s latest entry, in Caerphilly which previously had only four. But my major aim was indeed completeness. We now have a set of articles for all of the Principal areas, with high levels of separate articles/images on the individual entries. Compared with the coverage of historic gardens in other parts of the UK, that’s not bad. To have left out Blaenau Gwent because of the paucity would have been odd, and raised a question as to what the limit should be. Rhondda Cynon Taff has only 3 Grade I listed buildings, but that didn’t stop its article making FA. KJP1 (talk) 18:47, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's tough on Blaenau Gwent. If it doesn't have more than one historic garden, it seems completely barmy to create an article pretending that it does ...just for "completeness". Sionk (talk) 22:56, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Nobody is pretending anything - as at 28/3/2024, a list of the historic gardens in Cardiff has 18 items on it; a list of those in Blaenau Gwent has 1 item on it. The list isn’t defined by the quantity but by the criteria. KJP1 (talk) 02:13, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
