Expand headline[edit]

Maybe add one additional sentence to the head line that sums up an important feature of the location, I could not decide on a fitting one just yet. Narwaro (talk) 21:10, 27 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

American vs. US-American[edit]

I find the term "American" very ambiguous. For me, American simply means "something with its origin in the continent America". To this date, the Americas encompass 35 countries, so the term "US-American" is much more WP:NEUTRAL and fitting, despite MOS:NOTUSA. I understand that the people of the United States of America take a great pride in their country and culture, but there is a pragmatic, reasoned and neutral postulation in an encyclopedia. Feel free to reproduce this text anywhere in the Wikipedia. Narwaro (talk) 18:08, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but that is just how the word works in the English-speaking world. "American" is the primary demonym for those who live in these USA, and it is not a matter of pride, but convention. I have never called myself "US-American", no newspaper or media outlet has ever done it, and no scholar will do it, so Wikipedia cannot. 2600:8800:1880:91E:5604:A6FF:FE38:4B26 (talk) 14:10, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
