Marathi Family or Gujarati Family?[edit]

This writeup says Renu Desai was born in a Gujarati Family in Pune. What is the source? If this is merely based on her surname 'Desai', then this surname 'Desai' is equally found even in Marathi people. Whether she's from Marathi family or Gujarati family, can somebody get in touch and confirm.
