Requesting this page to be locked[edit]

So apparently, we got some super ultranationalist Greeks whom want to edit the page and add "MACEDONIA IS GREEK AND ALWAYS WILL BE". I do not want this. As having Greek blood, I respect Macedonians and I don't mind if they use the name or any of the symbols from Greek Macedonia.

I think it's time the world begins to respect this, and not vandalize these pages.

So I think this page should be locked so no anons can edit it.

I wondered if anyone would still be complaining about this when I saw the Main Page just refers to it as "in Macedonia" without specifying which Macedonia. But a quick look at the edit history indicates anon POV pushing was never an epidemic worth locking the page for. Ribbet32 (talk) 01:45, 2 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Separate holidays[edit]

Although Republic Day and Ilinden fall on the same day, this article should focus primarily on Republic Day and not conflate them, especially since there's already a separate article just for Ilinden. They have different names, and one is a secular holiday commemorating a declaration of independence, while the other is a religious holiday going back centuries. There are presumably non-religious Macedonians who celebrate the former but not the latter, as well as religious Bulgarians who celebrate the latter but not the former. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RCTodd (talkcontribs) 12:53, 27 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
