Swing calculations[edit]

As this was a first-past-the-post election, the usual Australian swing calculations don't work. Instead I have used the UK Butler method, being the average of the winning party percentage-point gain and the losing party percentage-point loss. I have used NA where one of the parties did not contest both elections. Eg Ashburnum 1907 Labor gain (53.7-31.4) = +22.3, Liberal reform "loss" (35.4-46.3) = -10.9 therefore Swing (22.3 - 10.9) / 2 = +5.7.

Ashburnham
  1904 1907
Party Candidate Votes % Candidate Votes % ±
Labor Patrick Clara 1,626 35.4 John Lynch 2,972 53.7 +22.3
Liberal Reform Eden George 1,832 35.4 Eden George 2,560 46.3 +10.9
Independent Joseph Reymond 1,721 33.2

Let me know if you disagree with my calculations or the method used. --Find bruce (talk) 03:15, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Those calculations look fine to me and make sense. Kirsdarke01 (talk) 05:24, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
