Merger proposal[edit]

The result of this discussion was to merge the United Revolutionary Front article into the Revolutionary Democratic Coalition article David O. Johnson (talk) 00:12, 8 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I propose that United Revolutionary Front be merged into Revolutionary Democratic Coalition. It seems that both describe the same alliance. Both were, according to sources, created in the second half of September 2012, both include a number of smaller leftist and revolutionary parties, including explicitly named Workers and Peasants Party, and both include Kamal Khalil among its leaders. I find it highly improbable that within a few days two separate organisations, including the same parties and figures and having very similar names were created. I find it much more probable that in the first days the name of the alliance was not fix yet and the alliance initially discussed as the United Revolutionary Front became than known as the Revolutionary Democratic Coalition (consider also different translations from Arabic into English). This is supported by the fact that we do not have a source that mentions a "United Revolutionary Front" after early October 2012. Has it suddenly disappeared only a few days after its creation?
