Move?[edit]

Hey @Kges1901:, could you explain the rationale behind moving this page and redirecting the original title? Also, this has just left a bunch of links, in various other articles, that now direct to the wrong article. This needs fixing. --Grnrchst (talk) 17:45, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Revolutionary Military Soviet another translation for the Revolutionary Military Council of the Red Army that existed the same period. Because this covered the much larger armed forces of the victorious state in the civil war that continued to be one of the top authorities in the Red Army until 1934 and thus has greater coverage in secondary sources, I would argue that it is the primary topic and confusing to have an alternate translation going to a different organization. The links can easily be fixed and I will work on doing that manually. Kges1901 (talk) 17:58, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok that makes sense. Thanks! :) Grnrchst (talk) 18:00, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hey @Kges1901, I was just informed by @UnknownVolin that the correct name for this body was actually the "Military Revolutionary Council" (Russian: Военно-революционный Совет), rather than the "Revolutionary Military Council". I'm now looking to move this page again, this time to "Military Revolutionary Council" and was wondering if you think this is disambiguated enough from the Bolshevik Revolutionary Military Council or if it will likewise need a "(Makhnovshchina)" tag for disambiguation. • It would still need a disambiguation because Military Revolutionary Council has been used as an alternate translation for the Soviet Revolutionary Military Soviet. Kges1901 (talk) 22:25, 9 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
