Information[edit]

Information was taken from Device, the retrospective book published in 2002. I've included details of his early days in the 1980's, his design work for the comics industry, expanded the comics bibliography to include non-2000 AD work and included a couple of images.

I'm aware this is something of an information dump - tidying would be appreciated!

I think the entry would benefit from sections about Hughes' font design and advertising work and his influence on other designers in the 2000's. While I think his work in comics is very important it does not reflect the work Hughes is doing at the moment. This is not my area of expertise though.

Zit[edit]

198.240.128.75 kindly turned Zit into a link for Zit (comic) but this is a different publication. The latter was a newsstand humour magazine whereas Hughes' Zit was a small photocopied zine-type publication. So I changed it back. You weren't to know! Peteashton 23:27, 2 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

COI tag (October 2021)[edit]

much unsourced content added by SPAs Theroadislong (talk) 19:44, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

One of those SPAs, User:ScienceService, claims to be Hughes himself, and refuses to understand that he's not supposed to be editing this article. --Orange Mike | Talk 14:24, 25 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Orange Mike - I'm at loss here. I understand that it's not good practice for the subject to write their own entry, but this entry already existed. I don't know who originally wrote it. I have given references for everything I've done. How might the article be updated otherwise? Genuinely wanting to do the right thing here. Shall I just leave it alone? It seems impractical to just assume that someone else will accurately fix it sometime in the future. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ScienceService (talkcontribs) 14:49, 25 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
