Be kind :-/[edit]

This is my first 'new' talk page, so I've probably screwed something up.

Richard B. Alley is a long overdue article and now that someone has started it, I'd love to help -- not lead, but help. :-) I can't take the lead because I'm crazy busy, but I can provide valuable input because he is my Ph.D. advisor. Todd Johnston 01:53, 4 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Hey, didn't Alley say something regarding glacial melt and wind changes? I found a quote:

"You’re going to have trouble blaming this on global warming.”

It's in a Science Magazine article.

“point to random, wind-induced circulation changes in the ocean–not global warming–as the dominant cause of the recent ice losses through the glaciers draining both the Greenland and West Antarctic ice sheets.” 68.51.41.46 (talk) 09:25, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How is that relevant to this Wikipedia article when only the first quote is Alley's and it's taken out of context? It's interesting that you left out this part of the Science article: "he says the results underscore the threat of global warming ..." -- 98.108.208.136 (talk) 00:20, 26 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I know this isn't supposed to be a forum for general discussion, but I am the original creator of this page (before Todd Johnston polished it up) and I am excited to see how comprehensive it has become--what about researching and expanding on other winners of the Seligman Crystal?Quixotic joe (talk) 21:00, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Whom was he given?[edit]

"... he was also awarded the first recipient of the Louis Agassiz Medal..."--SilasW 08:30, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Television Series[edit]

"On Sunday, April 10, 2011, PBS debuted a special program on climate change, entitled “EARTH: The Operators’ Manual”,[1] hosted by [2] The program's aim was to present an objective, accessible assessment of the Earth’s problems and possible solutions, with the stated intention of leaving viewers informed, energized and optimistic. The series continues through 2012 on PBS and affiliates. The series is accompanied by a book of the same name, also by [3] It was published on April 18, 2011."

This section was flagged as unsourced. I provided the requested references, as above. Arthur Rubin reverted these improvements, as "vandalism". I don't know why. Now that section is again unsourced.

The next move is yours.-96.237.1.158 (talk) 12:41, 25 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
