Not sure what the article's uncited reference to Equal Employment Opportunity Act of 1971 means. There was such an act in 1972, mentioned in 92nd_United_States_Congress. AndersW 10:21, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Point of withdrawal of U.S. Supreme Court nomination[edit]

I know that he withdrew from consideration, but I find this in the article: "Before President Richard Nixon could formally nominate him for the U.S. Supreme Court, Poff withdrew (before nomination reached the Senate)." What do you mean "before nomination reached the Senate"? That's redundant, because the nomination could not reach the Senate if the President had not formally made it.
