Question on sources[edit]

I wonder to what extent Wikipedia accepts autobiographies?

We try not to. DS (talk) 13:43, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps just as well. Rpkearns (talk) 19:59, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}}

My father has been composing for 40 years. He is not listed in any news article nor search. What constitutes a reputable website. What can I do so that he remains here in Wikipedia??? Thank you Rpkearns (talk) 22:44, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Has he been mentioned in any books, newspaper articles, magazine articles? Not all sources have to be online. Please read Wikipedia's Guidelines on Reliable Sources. -- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 22:59, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No he has been a very private person. We convinced him to upload his music to various sites but he would only to it to sites that allowed music to be shared freely. 86.46.134.126 (talk) 23:23, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • If there are no sources of information available from reliable sources, showing his notability, there is a chance that the article could be deleted. Even very private people who are notable tend to have some coverage in newspapers or magazines. If he has composed his own work, which has been published, I presume that somewhere there would be reviews of this work? I can't find any sources myself on Google News, Google News Archive, Google Scholar or Google Books which are about this Richard Kearns. -- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 00:35, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The only place where there are reviews of his work are on This music site,[1]where he has shared his music with more than 30,000 people. These reviews are by musicians who have copies of his works. Honstly I Don't know of any other sources nor do my sisters. Thanks for yor attention. Rpkearns (talk) 09:39, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Phantomsteve above. The main issue here is notability. If he is mentioned in any mainstream publication, (doesn't have to be mirrored on the internet), then the article might yet meet one of the basic requirements for inclusion in Wikipedia. It might not appear so, but I am not a deletionist, and would be happy to see this article retained if possible. Best. RashersTierney (talk) 14:15, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your efforts but there is no way we have of proving anything as at this time we do not know of any mainstream publication either on or off the net.....Rpkearns (talk) 17:54, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
