I don't understand the suggestion noted above - has it been mixed up with another discussion somehow? The suggestion in fact seems to be to delete this redirect. The history as I understand it, is as follows:

• 17 Dec 2007 - page is created for Ricky Byrd (former guitar player with Joan Jett and The Blakhearts)
• 22 May 2008 - the page was redirected, quite correctly I believe, to Joan_Jett#Joan_Jett_and_the_Blackhearts
• 24 January 2014 - attempts were made to hijack this redirected page to create a profile about the non-notable Ricky Bonard Byrd Jr.(CEO of Byrd Investments Group LLC, basketball player for Rome Gladiators, and an American actor), which had nothing to do with the previous content. Many continued attempts were made by a variety of different accounts. All these were reverted, but it became necessary to protect the page. The content added below with the infobox is another example of the persistent attempt to add content about Ricky Bonard Byrd Jr.

Because of this history, the request regarding this redirect does not make sense, and things are probably best left as is. The guitar player to whom the redirect correctly applies is not the self-promoter that is causing the problems. --_nonsense ferret 18:08, 3 January 2015 (UTC)

Protected edit request on 16 September 2019

Good morning, I have created a full, sourced independent page on Ricky Byrd and want to load it up on Wikipedia. However, there is this redirect to Joan Jett's page and it is protected. Only an administrator can delete the redirect. Byrd's career extends far beyond his work solely with Joan Jet and the Blackhearts, and this redirect needs to be deleted.

 Not done @EllenZoe: I suggest you list your page at Wikipedia:Requested moves and allow for a discussion period first. Prior articles under this title have been problematic, you may have solved that problem with your rewrite - and a RM discussion is a good way to show support for that. — xaosflux ^Talk 17:16, 17 September 2019 (UTC)

@EllenZoe: OK, I guess RM process doesn't like that mechanism and suggested using 'submit' instead. I've tagged your page for review that can deal with it.
