New article[edit]

I've created this article because I noticed that Rita Keane's listing in Deaths in June 2009 would have been removed in two days' time (for those not familiar with the agreed policy on the Deaths page, any name on the list which is still redlinked after one calendar month is removed on the grounds that if no article has been created in that time, the individual must be deemed non-notable).

I knew nothing about Rita Keane, but a bit of cursory digging revealed a fascinating and noteworthy life which certainly merited a Wiki article.

I've done my best here, but please be aware that I'm neither Irish, nor resident in Ireland, so any unfortunate or contentious use of words or turns of phrase is entirely unintentional on my part. I wasn't sure whether it was the *correct* thing to use Irish Free State rather than Ireland in her birth information, as from what I can see, the IFS was created weeks before Keane's birth. If I'm wrong, don't shoot me! Draggleduck (talk) 02:00, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well done on preserving her name. I added her name to that page but I don't know too much about her either. Going to add the Irish music WikiProject now as well. --candlewicke 11:26, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
