Merger proposal[edit]

I propose merging Glasgow Museum of Transport into Riverside Museum. They describe the same museum and I don't think the new location needs a standalone page. Happyecheveria (talk) 00:09, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Major update needed[edit]

This article only talks about the building, not it's contents. Either this article needs to be updated to include details of the exhibits; or the Glasgow Museum of Transport artical needs to be updated to reflect the changes since the move to Riverside. --Roly (talk) 11:42, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Clyde Model Dockyard[edit]

Has the Clyde Model Dockyard shop been recreated in the new Riverside museum as is was in the old Kelvin Hall?--Roly (talk) 13:33, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I work for Glasgow Museums and therefore have a conflict of interest and can't edit this page but yes we have recreated the Clyde Model Dockyard in the new museum. Photographs of the Riverside Museum[edit]

I work for Glasgow Museums and therefore have a conflict of interest and can't edit this page. I have a large number of good photographs of the museum and its displays that I have taken myself and I own copyright for. I am more than happy to have them uploaded to Wiki under the creative commons license if anybody would like to do that. The museum manager is fine with these photos being made available. Correction - Class 15F 4-8-2 no 3007 purchased from Transnet by Glasgow Museums in late 2006[edit]

Hi,

Thanks to the editors of this page - it looks great! I wonder if somebody could make just a small amendment - I have a conflict of interest and can't do it myself. It's just that it says: "the locomotive was a gift from South African railways operator Spoornet to the project." which is a totally understandable mistake but it was actually purchased from Transnet. Thanks so much for making the changes User:Alison.parfitt Have noticed something else that is incorrect.

It currently says: "L. S. Lowry: Cranes and Ships, Glasgow Docks – acquired at Christie's in November 2005 for £198,400, the painting is on display at the Kelvin Hall."

The Kelvinhall is currently closed and undergoing extensive refurbishment and the Lowry is actually located on the mezzanine of the Riverside Museum.
