Robert Griffin III controversy On December 13, 2012, Rob Parker made certain statements regarding Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III. The first edit I noticed about this was good, I edited it more to more fully explain how the subject came up on ESPN's First Take, what Rob Parker said, and how others on the show reacted. I'm not sure why someone edited it down to a much more compact explanation. Its my belief that this will be a a widely search topic, and a thorough explanation of what Parker said will avoid confusion or questions.Planeis (talk) 03:07, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The way it was, the quotations took almost half the article. If people want to see the full quotes they can click on the links and read it. This is an encyclopedia article, not a transcript. The event needs to be given its appropriate weight in comparison to this person's entire life and career without suffering too much from recentism. I'm sure my summary could be improved and clarified, but I don't think it should be expanded. Maximusveritas (talk) 03:14, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
maybe the quotes can be condensed, but you left out half the things that were said and had no explanation of what the context of the comments are.Planeis (talk) 03:20, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's possible that Rob Parker is a cornball Brother himself... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Flameface12345 (talkcontribs) 20:56, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That section is WAY too long, needs to be edited. --66.203.207.66 (talk) 22:15, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There is a misquote on the Robert Griffin III controversy. "There was all this talk about how he's a Republican, which, I don't really care, there's no information at all." verbatim he said "There was all this talk about how he's a Republican, which, I.. there's no, there is no information at all." since it is impossible to know what he was planing on saying after "I.." the quote should read "There was all this talk about how he's a Republican, which there's no information at all."

Feel free to correct it if you know what the actual wordin should be.Planeis (talk) 20:59, 8 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

ESPN firing This page needs to be watched for vandalism. I quickly fixed some areas, but I don't watch this page. One of the current watchers should take the helm to rewrite the introduction and final paragraph due to the ever changing nature of his departure from ESPN. I am watching it, haven't noticed any problem areas. What did you see? I think the ending paragraph is fine pending further information. If anyone has any information about his personal life I think that should be whats added, because even before the RG3 controversy there just wasn't anything there.Planeis (talk) 21:03, 8 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, so I just went through and summarized the RG3 section. I left in more of Parker's quotes and cut out most of the the unnecessary stuff. If readers want to see everything that was said, they can read the sources or look up the video on YouTube. I also added more bio information about Parker's career to provide some balance to the article. When I did a word/character count before, it was about 90% having to do with controversies. It is still weighted in that direction, but at least it's reasonable. - Maximusveritas (talk) 05:43, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I eliminated ESPN from the intro. Frankly, he's been fired/let go/resigned from a lot of different places (Will be updating Controversies in the next few days). For now I think it best to just include what he is currently doing.

Also, I guess I should add-- "no relations".LightSParker (talk) 22:18, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
