MTV 'racism'[edit]

The section on his MTV's initial reluctance to play music by black artists is a self-serving travesty. For example, it claims MTV "solicited" videos by Michael Jackson. In fact, CBS Records had to threaten to withdraw all their other artists from MTV in order to force the company to play 'Billie Jean'! The episode is detailed in the recent Tom Hanks-produced series 'The Eighties', currently running on PBS America in several territories.
