Removing sources and conflict of interest[edit]

First of all, please do not remove dates of retrieval for online sources. This is part of a full and correct citation as used in Wikipedia. See: Wikipedia:Citing sources, the relevant part of which, I quote below:

All citation techniques require detailed full citations to be provided for each source used. Full citations must contain enough information for other editors to identify the specific published work you used.

Full citations for books typically include: the name of the author, the title of the book or article, the date of publication, and page numbers. The name of the publisher, city of publication, and ISBN are optional. For journal articles, include volume number, issue number and page numbers. Citations for newspaper articles typically include the title of the article in quotes, the byline (author's name), the name of the newspaper in italics, date of publication, page number(s), and the date you retrieved it if it is online.

Secondly, a Wikipedia article is not a personal or promotional web page. The removal of a source, especially one by a noted critic (Edward Rothstein), in a noted and reputable paper like the New York Times [1] simply because it was a review critical (in part) of a work violates a core policy of Wikipedia - Neutral point of view.

I added the review because it helps establish notability for the article's subject and verifies his authorship of one of the works listed in the article - Frida. It also provides further information about the work not available on Wikipedia. Note that the original article by Americanoperastudies, had been tagged by another editor as failing to establish notability of the subject. [2]. Finally, if Americanoperastudies, who created this article and who removed the reference to the New York Times review, is also the article's subject, Robert Xavier Rodriguez, or has a close connection to him, he/she has a potential conflict of interest.
