In the article it's stated that: Rousseau reported in a letter of 1688 that he was a respected musician at Versailles, and also played the viol (Strizich and Ledbetter 2001). Jean Jacques Rousseau - as linked to - wasn't born until 1712. He could not have written a letter in 1688.

I agree; more likely Jean Rousseau the composer is meant; but would need to check the Strizich and Ledbetter article...--FeanorStar7 (talk) 12:23, 11 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Verified; the New Grove article says Jean Rousseau NOT Jean Jacques; so I'm fairly confident of the change to Jean Rousseau.--FeanorStar7 (talk) 23:47, 11 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
