Boycotting WMG[edit]

Estemshorn (talk) 18:49, 22 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That would absolutely need to have a reliable source to state in the first place. --MASEM 18:57, 22 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

well, i'll find one.. Estemshorn (talk) 19:03, 22 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Got a Wired source that says it. We're good. --MASEM 15:05, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This needs to be updated in light of the fact that a Warner Music pack (Green Day to be specific) was released on Rock Band last week. Cynical (talk) 15:02, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Added this info, though it doesn't explicitly say that there's no more issues between them. --MASEM (t) 15:14, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Rock Band Unplugged"[edit]

Announced via Kotaku this morning. Will include a "fully-featured in-game store" with Wi-Fi support for DLC. That's about it at the moment. -- TRTX T / C 16:52, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Confirmation: Sean Baptiste confirms. -- TRTX T / C 17:00, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Got it from MTV S. Totilo, who recreated the Sony PR. In the article, redirection from Rock Band Unplugged created until more details are known. --MASEM (t) 17:02, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"The Beatles: Rock Band" confirmed[edit]

9-9-9. This apparently pulls it officially into the Rock Band franchise. -- TRTX T / C 15:29, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Confirmation: here. -- TRTX T / C 15:31, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
it's not an actual rock band game, so should we add a spin-offs section to the article? Estemshorn (talk) 20:32, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lego Rock Band[edit]

After reading the Kotaku article, I think it's better to leave out speculation that it is in fact Lego Rock Band. Harmonix is allowed to make games OTHER than Rock Band, and since there was no specific information stating that slide was referencing Rock Band or Lego Rock Band, I have reworded to present only what is known. -- TRTX T / C 04:29, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Konami's DrumMania[edit]

I have realized that the DrumMania arcade machine is not EVEN COVERED in this article. Rock Band is definitely under heavy influence by the DrumMania machine despite this is not agreeable by American audiences.

One must note that DrumMania came into the market in 1998 while Rock Band in 2007.

"Konami has not mass produced an American version of DrumMania, primarily since John Devecka holds the US patent for "drum simulation games", which Activision had purchased and utilized in Guitar Hero series." - from the Drummania article.

This sentence should be included in the article. Rock Band could not have made its appearance if Konami held a US patent for it back then.

The problem with DrumMania machines are the lack of American culture and popularity (it was not until V4, that they tried to include American covers), the intense amount of Japanese mixes and its insane game play difficulty (which makes extremely high replayability). Fireblaster lyz (talk) 16:25, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, the Komani stuff is mentioned on Rock Band (video game) as there are counterlawsuits between Komani and HMX/MTV Games/EA on their patent. --MASEM (t) 16:36, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

LEGO Rock Band Confirmed[edit]

Here by Dan Teasedale himself. A few songs are included as well. -- TRTX T / C 13:51, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Here is the official harmonix source Estemshorn (talk) 20:18, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disregard the IGN article[edit]

I am referring to this. IGN is jumping to WAY too big a conclusion. There is no Rock Band: Pearl Jam announced at this time. The article says NOTHING about the nature of the release (disc, pack, DLC). Please do NOT reference this source as it is making numerous assumptions. -- TRTX T / C 03:01, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Games Table[edit]

Is it possible to put in a table of all the games in the Rock Band series like the one on the Guitar Hero page? KP-TheSpectre (talk) 22:13, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

DLC Sales[edit]

"Sales of downloadable songs have been in favor of hard rock bands." This sentence needs to be changed, since it's not true. Top 5, other than free songs: 5 - All the Small Things 6 - Move Along 7 - Dirty Little Secret 8 - Buddy Holly 9 - The Kill 10 - Metallica pack 01

Metallica is the only hard rock. If you go further down the list, you'll see it supports pop rock - NOT hard rock. If someone doesn't change it soon, I guess I will... 217.44.109.57 (talk) 22:38, 25 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

DLC[edit]

There have been huge navigation problems since the Epic failure of people messing with the DLC page. currently there is a self referencing link on the rock band page, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_Band#Downloadable_songs Can somebody explain why we did this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.238.224.85 (talk) 17:15, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Rock Band 3"[edit]

While a recent MCV article has an MTV head or something stating something about "Rock Band 3" , it needs to be clear that it is not necessary "Rock Band 3", just the next rock band project. The quote says along the lines that the team is working on the next project, "effectively 'Rock Band 3'" - that does not mean the next game will necessarily be that, and because it is so far out, we should not be including it per WP:CRYSTAL and WP:HAMMER. --MASEM (t) 06:37, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, Rock Band 3 http://ps3.ign.com/articles/104/1043219p1.html confirmation —Preceding unsigned comment added by GastroTV (talkcontribs) 03:36, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mobile versions[edit]

The text about mobile versions is out of date. September 16, 2009, the release date for Rock Band on Verizon has come and passed, and Rock Band for iPhone has been released. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Josephegorman (talkcontribs) 22:40, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rock Band 3[edit]

officially in progress http://ps3.ign.com/objects/028/028566.html —Preceding unsigned comment added by 187.155.22.223 (talk) 06:54, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A page for game information at IGN or other sites does not confirm any information about development of the game. They've mentioned RB3, but no time scale for it (beyond, not 2009 due to Beatles). --MASEM (t) 13:55, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It can't be officially in progress until harmonix announces that it is in progress. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Estemshorn (talkcontribs) 23:28, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

reconfigeration[edit]

i hope nobody minds, but i reconfiguered the games section to look more like the guitar hero page NTC TNT (talk) 21:00, 31 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Drums[edit]

You have the RB drums on this page listed as what they would do on Guitar Hero. That's not right. Yellow, Blue, and Green are cymbals and toms. Which the 3 cymbals in respective order are: Hi-hat, Ride/Splash and Crash. The green Tom was added on RB 2. I'll change it.

And if you don't agree with me, ask someone who actually played the drums on Expert. 204.69.115.44 (talk) 13:53, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The high hat is only for the Yellow. The Blue Cymbal does the Ride, Splash, Tom, and that footpedal for the Cymbal. If anyone knows what it is, please tell me. 204.69.115.44 (talk) 13:44, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Stone Temple Pilots in Rock Band 3[edit]

According to Billboard, Stone Temple Pilots have licensed music for use in Rock Band 3.

Weird Al Yankovic[edit]

According to the Knight Shift's Hotspot, it said "Harmonix and MTV Games is proud to announce ROCK BAND: "WEIRD AL" YANKOVIC is in production for a release date of October 27th, 2010." Rodimus Rhyme (talk) 11:24, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Right, except that's an April Fool's joke from a non-news site. --Maxamegalon2000 13:32, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Contradiction[edit]

How many weeks did Harmonix make DLC for in reality? Was it 281 or 275? We can't say it was both. This needs to be fixed, but I have no idea which figure is correct. LazyBastardGuy 00:32, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"Discovery Geography"[edit]

Looking at Discovery Inc. Harrison Canyon (talk) 14:49, 26 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
