Stephanie Shinn Darden[edit]

I searched for several forms of her name on Google and on the Holocaust Museum site and nothing came up. Should she be removed? Culicidae (talk) 19:57, 23 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Grover Cleveland[edit]

Grover Cleveland may have visited Rockledge in 1888. He did ride in the river steamer "Rockledge." I think he may have been in office at the time. Quite a big deal. Can't find good online ref. May have to use hardcopy. One line sufficient. Titusville, too "while you are up!"  :) Student7 (talk) 22:45, 24 May 2010 (UTC) @Student7: Link is here: http://indianriverlagoon.org/irled/oldirlg1.html —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.213.141.82 (talk) 16:26, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ralph Williams Elementary[edit]

Recommend this school be removed from the schools serving Rockledge because it is not in Rockledge, but Viera. Manatee also serves Rockledge, should we include that too? In fact, you can request a waiver to go to many schools outside of the city that you live in. Signal101 (talk) 12:25, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Wording was vague. Must be inside city limits.Student7 (talk) 19:45, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your point? That is a mailing address. It is NOT in Rockledge city limits. The sign for Rockledge city limits is well before Clubhouse Dr on Murrell Road. What that means is that the Rockledge Post Office serves that area.Signal101 (talk) 12:24, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Government & Demographics Section[edit]

These two sections seem jumbled to me. Any suggestions on how to clean it up? Seems like a bunch of facts just thrown in the there. Looking for ideas on how to better organize it. 50.89.177.72 (talk) 23:08, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure what you are criticizing. Might be best to separate the two criticisms. The Demographics section was created a long time ago by a bot, inserting material from the census in there. It may have since had additions.
The government section was created out of whole cloth as items appeared in the local press. It can probably be improved. Improvements, however, should be properly footnoted. Student7 (talk) 14:45, 21 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It seems like just a bunch of unrelated facts thrown in. Looking for ideas on how to improve the section. Foot notes wouldn't be needed, this is a an organization issue. 50.89.177.72 (talk) 21:32, 21 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
And, in fact, that is how most articles are written. A encyclopedic fact appears in a reliable source and gets inserted into the article as best as possible. Rarely, does anyone "sit down" and write an article. But it does happen.
But new material needs WP:RS, just like most of the old. The old may need citing as well. When uncited material is inserted (top of someone's head), it often gets reverted. Top-of-the-head material tends to attract more of the same. This may "read better" but may be less reliable and may be less encyclopedic.
And yes, when someone gets sick of looking at material that is poorly integrated, though cited, it may get rewritten or reorganized!
Many articles in Wikipedia have been rewritten/reorganized a number of times, if they are old enough. Student7 (talk) 22:10, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I am talking about reorganization. I am looking for ideas here.50.89.177.72 (talk) 22:58, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well besided the demographics section needing an update, and some rewording if nothing else, i dont see how you would reorganize this.Millertime246 (talk) 23:09, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Lyman E. Barnes[edit]

Lyman E. Barnes practiced law in Rockledge, Florida for 5 years prior to going back to Wisconsin where he eventually was elected to Congress. I added his name to the notable people section with a citation of the Rockledge, Florida article only to have some anon editor objecting to this. I will not get involved in an edit war. However, I do think these anon editors should be required to register as users. This will make it easier for everyone. Thank you-RFD (talk) 17:45, 23 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I do not know who the anon editor is, but I agree with the anon editor. It does not seem to meet the criteria for notable/famous persons. Brian3030 (talk) 19:40, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Gardner S Hardee[edit]

Could find no reference to him coining the name Rockledge. Most sources point to Magruder. Will leave it up for a while so people can do research. Brian3030 (talk) 18:28, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
