acquisitions

No reference to Roland contracting with Italian synth maker Siel, then soon acquiring them. Perhaps more attention ought be given to companies Roland has picked up and occasionally discarded.

JP-8000

JP-8000 Analog Synthesizer: Roland's first virtual analog synthesizer. Its technology was more similar to conventional PCM synthesis, such as in a JD-800, rather than the virtual analog synths of today that digitally model the behavior of analog oscillators

Reference that the synthesis in the JP-8000 differs markedly from the previous Nord Lead (1) or the subsequent Leads, Viruses, MS-2000s's, Ion / Micron / MiniAK, SH-32, AN1x / AN200 / PLG150-AN, Waldorf Q / Blofeld (analog modeling features), Supernovas / Novas / A Station / K Stations / X Stations / Xiosynths / Ultranova / Mininova, SH-32, SH-1, SH-201, System - 1 / - 8, Alesis Fusion, MOSS / Radias, Venom, et al????? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.110.182.165 (talk) 21:33, 29 September 2018 (UTC)

The list will shrink.

A "heads up" notice: Unless a given entry on the Noteworthy products list is granted at least some little speck of noteworthiness, it is subject to removal. If there's not a proper WP article, or some outside commentary, or at least a brief note as to why it OUGHT to be noteworthy, then it's trash.

I am a fan of Roland gear, but this article is entirely overgrown with kudzu.

For the record: I am NOT the editor who killed that list. I found it shocking, but certainly overdue.
Yes, there is (IMO) a place here for a list of notable products from Roland and its variants. However, that notability MUST be supported AT VERY LEAST by a credible WP article — not just a thrown-together stub — and more preferably by a link to a credible outside source that goes into detail about the device's notability.

Looks OK to me now, so I am removing it. Zezen (talk) 22:19, 10 December 2018 (UTC)
