Referring to summer[edit]

Hi, Could you use dates rather then referring to summer? For half the world its not summer at all, so its kinda confusing :) (I'd switch it to dates, but i have no references for when you might mean). Thanks!. kgoetz (talk) 01:16, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Good point! However, the references for the rosters for Canada, England and The US are clearly dated, so feel free to make that change and Be Bold. Echoedmyron (talk) 01:57, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'll go and look it up after I've done some more work on CCR ; hopefully in the next few days. kgoetz (talk) 05:25, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You don't even need to do that - if you scroll down to where references are, the dates of the roster announcements are visible without following the links. I stopped adding info on roster announcements in the hopes that someone else would pick up the torch; feel free to locate any pertinent info for WC and teams, etc if you wish! (Would be great to see some sourcing for Australia and New Zealand in here; nice that you guys are diving headlong into wikipedia for your leagues. North American league articles are hit and miss. Repeating event[edit]

Now that Blood and Thunder has announced that they hope to stage the next World Cup, at a location to be determined, in 2014, at some point this article should be altered to reflect that; the content for this one moving to a new "2011 Roller Derby World Cup" article, the creation of an article with this one's title being about the nature of the event in general terms, and an eventual "2014 Roller Derby World Cup" article. In the short term, with not enough history to yet warrant these changes, it may as well stay as is. Echoedmyron (talk) 21:51, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Blood & Thunder has announced that the location and dates for the 2014 event will be announced shortly; so we're about to require splitting into separate articles for the different events, along with a general article about the World Cup over all. Echoedmyron (talk) 20:27, 6 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Absolutely! Probably best to wait until the announcement next week, so that there is at least one decent source to base the new article on. The men's World Cup might also merit an article, once details are announced - probably around the time of the European Championships in late July. Warofdreams talk 22:39, 6 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

World Championship status[edit]

Regarding Warofdreams edit removing the world championship template from this page. I think the correct would be to mark WFTDA as women's club championship and this as women's championship with MRDA as men's club championship and MRDWC as men's championship. These are all four also world cup competitions. --Jhattara (Talk · Contrib) 20:16, 11 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The two templates and related lists are a bit unclear in scope, but it seems that the most defining feature is whether the event is termed a "World Cup" or "Championships". If both roller derby Champs and both World Cups appear on both templates, are they simply duplicates? Warofdreams talk 23:54, 11 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
For example the FIFA World Cup appears in both templates as it's a world cup that is also world championships for football national teams. --Jhattara (Talk · Contrib) 22:21, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
