Planned satellite city[edit]

This article needs to cover the grand development plans for Rolleston from the 1970s - 1980s. If I recall correctly a largely independent satellite town of 50,000+ was planned in order to preserve Christchurch's green belt. Actual development has been much more modest and haphazard, and the Chch green belt has been eroded, built upon, and in some parts, liquefied. Town of the future nickname[edit]

The "Town Of The Future" information should be removed from "nickname" under the sidebar, and discussed in the historical sense in the main article. The signage has been removed for well over a decade, approaching two, and it will only be the original residents prior to the late 2000's population explosion who recall the nickname. 114.23.104.123 (talk) 03:53, 17 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
