bishops of where?[edit]

Bishops O Donel, Lambert, and Scallan were never bishops of St. John's. Bishop O Donel was bishop of Thyatira/Nilopolis, Bishop Lambert was bishop of Chytri, and Bishop Scallan was bishop of Dragobitia. When Father O Donel arrived, his bishop was the Vicar Apostolic of London. Bishop Fleming was bishop of the diocese of Newfoundland. Bishop Mullock was the first bishop of a diocese called St. John's. This might seem picky but if we're going to claim the name (Arch)diocese of St. John's for these historic figures of the island,, then we should state that the first bishop was Francois Laval, since Newfoundland was then part of the diocese of Quebec. In fact Laval's successor went to Placentia to bless a monastery. If there is no problem I can write this up a bit and create a history section. --Richardson mcphillips (talk) 01:12, 13 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
